Seventeen members of the Harrison DECA Chapter recently attended the 8th annual Northwest Arkansas Fall Leadership Development Conference in Springdale. The meeting was held at the Northwest Arkansas Convention Center on October 24, 2012. Over 300 students from across the State participated in the annual leadership
conference.
Students attending the conference participated in a simulated comprehensive written exam in preparation for the State DECA Competition to be held in February 2013. Harrison DECA members Parker Richardson, Eric Crawford, and Kristin Hurst received top honors for their achievement on the written exam. These students were recognized with awards at the closing session of the conference.
All delegates to the conference attended workshops focusing on DECA’s competency based competitive events. Other workshops were presented by The Muscular Dystrophy Association focusing on their mission of combating neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive medical and support services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
